Sing with Us

Open Auditions

Open auditions are held the first few weeks of each season. We typically begin the Christmas season in August or early September and the spring season in January or early February. If you want to check us out at any point, we welcome interested singers to attend rehearsals throughout the season and may offer mid-season auditions based on needs and skill. For the 2025/2026 season, we are particularly looking for tenors and basses.

What to Expect

At your audition, you can expect to join us first for rehearsal. All auditions are held after rehearsals, so plan to sing! This way you can get a feel for the group and warm up. After rehearsal, you will sing solo in front of a small committee of members. For this, you will sing a short selection of a song you know and complete some vocal range testing. You do not need to be performance ready, we are simply looking to understand your voice.  

Becoming a Member

Cantare Members are expected to learn and sometimes memorize around 60-minutes of music. This requires practice outside of our weekly rehearsals. We provide Choral Tracks to members to assist in your growth and learning outside of the practice room. As a non-profit organization, we do expect our singers to make some financial investment to support the group, and we have scholarships available to support any interested singer!
